Here’s to the lovely caffeine

I usually don’t start my work day without a cup (or three) of coffee. It has helped me stay awake, focused and wired during the many days and countless nights of working diligently. So, here’s my attempt at paying back to the great caffeine by dedicating an entire post (!) to it. Credit goes...

Song in that Geico airport commercial

I like good commercials, and outside of some of my favorite Heineken and Mountain Dew commercials, my wife and I like some of the Geico commercials as well. Among those infamous caveman broadcasts, is one where the guy is at the airport walking past his poster on the wall. Well, for the longest time...

D-Day — Mr. and Mrs. Shah

As I mentioned earlier, I’m about to take the next big step in my life by tying the knot with my now-fiance, Neha. Well, today’s the big day (!!) and while I hear ~200 people downstairs in our house in India, dancing to the beats of the DJ, celebrating the beginning of the day, I just want...

Naya Saal Mubarak (Happy New Year)!

I know I’ve been on a blogging hiatus for some time now, but I’m not going to let that stop me from wishing everyone an awsomest happy new year! If I think back and remember all the highs and lows from last year, I’d say that, all in all, 06 was good to me — I popped the question...

AOL Woes Continue

With AOL’s recent issues from letting go off their subscribers to laying off 5000 employees, their trouble continue as they outdo themselves yet again by releasing 20 million queries of 650K AOL users to the public! The queries now live nicely under a web interface that allows searching through...

Family Guy Goes Harvard

Seth McFarlane aka Peter aka Stewie aka Quagmire recently gave a speech to a graduating class at Harvard. If you didn’t get any of that, do yourself a favor and schedule a recording on your 100 GB DVR for the next episode of Family Guy on either Fox or Cartoon Network. Or check out one of the older...

…please find attached the *GOOGLE* spreadsheet!
…please find attached the *GOOGLE* spreadsheet!

Perhaps Google listened to one of the many wish lists out there and thought rolling out their own spreadsheet didn’t sound all that bad! Whatever it is, the inside scoope on the now-live service looks promising. Makes me think, despite several speculation, the idea of seeing a Google OS (GoogOS?)...

GWT and JAVA

I foresee a lot of my posts having the word Google or its variations in this blog. If you’re not like me and think they haven’t “over delivered” already, here’s another set of toolkit that Google has open sourced, code word Google Web Toolkit (GWT). Among other things, it...

LOTD

I like using Mozilla (suite, not firefox) as my bookmarks keeper, but the problem with that is that I have to frequently “rsync” the files with my work desktop and the gazillion computers I have at home. So, until I figure out a way to nicely host the bookmarks on this domain, I’ll...

Vide-O-Rama

It seems as if sharing Videos is the new thing now. Thanks to the ever-fattening pipe, we’ve enough bandwidth to download an hour and a half long movie in 10 mins (much less for you 10Mbps Comcast and you FTTP junkies out there!) off of these sites. Among the top dawgs are YouTube and Google Video....
